Featured Puzzle: Tile Paint #2

As we’re coming up on the end of November, I wanted to do another Tile Paint puzzle. Hopefully you enjoy my ongoing process of learning pixel art. Shade cells in the grid to reveal a picture!

  • Each region in the grid must be either completely shaded, or completely empty. If you fill one cell in a region, you must fill the rest.
  • Numbers around the edge indicate the total of shaded cells in that row or column.
  • A row or column with no number might have any number of shaded cells.

Featured Puzzle: Gemini Sudoku #1

In Gemini Sudoku, you’re given a pair of Sudoku grids. The grid on the right works like a cipher for the grid on the left. Wherever a digit appears in the left grid, it maps to a specific digit in the same position in the right grid. For example 4 in the left grid might map to a 6 in the right grid. This means that for every 4 you discover on the left, you can place a 6 in the same position on the right.

Featured Puzzle: Verbal A-line-ment #1

I wanted to work at least one word puzzle in this month, so here’s a pretty simple one. Place all the letter pairs into the circles so that they spell six 6-letter words, reading across the line to the opposite colored circle. All of the words include the letters ON in the center.

Featured Puzzle: Fold-a-Box #1

When I was a kid, origami was a hobby I delved into with a passion. All these years later, and I just discovered that November 11th is World Origami Day! Today’s puzzle, originally named Yokibunkastu (“container dividing”), is themed around folding, so I thought it would be appropriate for the occasion. Draw walls to form pentomino (5-cell) regions around the paper cranes.
